By Al-Hafiz Ibn Abi Dunya Allah, the Most High, Said: "If My slaves ask you about Me, I am near. I answer the call of the caller when he calls on Me. They should therefore respond to Me and believe in Me so that hopefully they will be rightly guided." [al-Baqrarah (2):186]. The Prophet (5) said: "Ailah, the Exalted, says: 'I am as My servant thinks of Me."" Al-Bukhari, #7405 and Muslim, #2675. Before you are two texts that we have placed into ore book by Al-Hafiz Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Dunya: 'Having Good Thoughts of Allah' and 'Having True Reliance on Allah'. These two great acts of worship of the heart are interlinked with each other, and the author covers them quite comprehensively - which every sincere believer must cultivate in their hearts. Know that Allah loves the believers, He wants goodness for them, but the belivers must place true reliance on Him alone and think positively of Him at all times. This work will mend every broken heart, uplift many souls, and awaken every person wanting goodness to proceed with love, reliance, care, and devotion to Allah. It is truly indispensable for every soul that craves salvation in this life and the next. Al-Hafiz Abu Bakr Ibn Abi Dunya, was an authoritative and prolific writer and compiler of Hadith. Highly respected for leading an exemplary lifestyle, he was known for his piety and asceticism, spending much of his adult life teaching and counselling. Over a hundred works have been attributed to him, many of which are no longer extant. What is available runs into approximately sixty titles.
